“Possums Playschool offers an engaging and stimulating environment for children to learn through play.”
Possums Playschool enjoys a great reputation as one of Canberra’s most popular and much loved programs for 3, 4 and 5 year old children, prior to entering preschool.
Possums is a play based learning facility with structured activities for children. Our primary focus is to prepare your child for preschool by offering a similar environment and program.
Possums Playschool is a child-centered environment, where play is viewed both as an act of learning and the object of learning. Through play, children interpret their experiences, which help them to make sense of their world. Play offers ideal learning opportunities, as it allows the children to initiate structure and direct their own learning experiences.
Parents and carers also appreciate the wonderful environment at Possums and are receptive to the open door policy, allowing them the freedom to participate in the program. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s learning at Possums through the Parents Duty Roster or by becoming a member of the Parents Committee which is responsible for the operation of Possums Playschool.
Possums Playschool has proven to be a great stepping stone for children as they prepare for preschool the following year. The feedback we receive from parents and children has reassured us that the program is achieving the intended results. Children are achieving a great sense of independence and thriving in a relaxed, fun and stimulating environment.
Enrolments are generally open from the month of May for the following year. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you put your child’s name down on the waiting list, as positions are usually filled quickly.
